My name’s Davian Lauer um I was born in Lake Tahoe California uh moved to Aspen shortly after um grew up doing Renaissance Fairs till the age of five. My parents were strange they were hippies, um my Father was an international drug smuggler so I had a strange bringing up especially to brought up in a place like Aspen. Um at 13 I left there and dropped out of high school, and decided that I kinda wanted to live on my own to experience whatever.
And so I ended up with a partner who I stayed with for five years and uh we both got involved in jewelry making and went to school for it, and became Jewelers which has manifested itself into welding, and glass blowing, and loose glass and a lot of other wonderful things art wise which is something I never thought I had a talent for.
I’ve spent about close to ten years in Boulder, I came here ten years ago, when left the partner that I was with, and married a woman here who was an ex model and an heiress.
We spent three years off and on continually traveling around the world experiencing as many countries as possible. And um in that uh we, on our honeymoon, well we were married in Burma in Mayan Mar and decided to take our honeymoon in India and um at that time there was a war going on there it was between the Hindus and the Muslims and they were tearing down each others mosque.
We happened to get in a spot in trouble while we were there, and quarantined to our hotel. And being as inquisitive and um sometimes stupid as I am, uh crawled out of the hotel room window into a riot of 300,000 people and found myself with a bullet in my chest uh about 30 seconds later, everything ended up okay it’s still there, but um recovered in Santorini Greece for 6 months.
Did a lot of really wonderful things as far as political activism goes over seas, and um had some stuff to do with the unrest in Chiapas right now. Helping out, sending clothes, and money and what not and uh have bits and pieces to do with a coffee company down here, through friends. Just passing out information and knowledge and whatever called the Human Bean Coffee Company and they support the natives of Chiapas who are being massacred left and right.
And uh for me I guess right now in my life I’m just coming into my 29th year, and um seeking knowledge mostly, and um wanting more experience than I’ve had, which the experience that I’ve had so far is more than most people get in five life times. You know I could talk way longer than five minutes about myself so to narrow it into five minutes is so hard.
Uh but to ask for more experience seems selfish and kinda unfair but I want it and I crave it. And um I hope, I hope that I get to do more traveling, I feel that the last traveling that I’ve done was too fast. I’m just praying for things to slow down in my life you know asking the Universe everyday to make things to go slower. So that when I do travel this next time, be it in the states, or around this town or around the world again that I absorb more, and take in more.
Basically, plan to keep Boulder as a home base, and do my business with glass, and I’m very appreciate to have gotten the chance to speak with you.
