Hello, my name is Scott ____. I used to work for the department of defense. Any country that bought weapons from the United States, they would get my services. I was in customer support, and I did that for years, traveled all over the world to different countries giving support to the countries that bought weapons from us. This was in the seventies, and it was a go-go time. That’s when our weapons sales were peaking the world over. The money was good, all the benefits and everything, but one day I was on vacation in Crete and I met a Palestinian, and we were discussing my line of work and politics. And it slowly evolved that he was telling me what was happening with the weapons that we were selling to Israel. A lot of them were used to suppress the local population. They’d use the guns on the Palestinians while they built settlements, took their land, evicted them, demolished their homes. Plus, Israel’s the only country in the world where torture is legal. It’s government security services law 9A and 9B. I know a lot about these things because the business I was in. I’m no longer in it. I did more research by reading some magazines, Washington Report, incidentally, and discovered that for all these years I’d been on the wrong side because most of our weapons sold to these poor countries are not used to fight wars, but just to keep the population strained out so they don’t cause problems. And I was a part of that, and I felt bad ever since. I quit the department of defense and trying to right those wrongs, I have wrote articles, different things, about the injustices that are going on in Palestine because I was a part of that. I helped to suppress them in my small way with the weapons program and to this day they are still our largest recipient of our weapons and to this day they are used for the same thing - suppressing that population and taking their land. And we give them 6.5 billion dollars a year to that end that keeps us in hot water with all of the Arab countries, and it needs to stop. But it can’t stop because of an organization called APAC, which influences our congressman to vote continued high levels of aid to Israel. So, hopefully with my writing, I write letters to my congressman, which they don’t pay much attention to, because I don’t send along huge monetary gifts along with the letters. But I do speak out, not many do, on the issue. Well, not many people know anything about it, it’s kind of complicated. But anyway, when you read in the paper that your country’s the largest arm sales, sales person in the world, think about those weapons and how much do these country’s really need these weapons. Maybe they should have worked on agriculture, dams, bridges, build their infrastructure. Do they really need so many weapons, and what the hell for? I’ll keep on writing letters, and hopefully someone will see this and become inspired and get the _____ report on Middle East affairs, or they could read my book that’s put out by American Educational Trust.
