Okay... my life story. Um... I'm Patricia T., I uh... I was born August 1st, 1969 in Ohio... uh... that was the summer of Woodstock... and the first man on the moon, and the Vietnam War was going on then so I think it was a good time to be born... I grew up in Ohio. I went to school in Cleveland, then I moved to uh... well, after Ohio I moved to Ann Arber, Michigan, and um... well let me backtrack. So I went to school for biology and I did genetics research and clinical research and then around the time that I was 27 I decided that I wanted to like leave that field and go out and find more... find out about community work, and the peace movement type work on locally and around the world. So, when I moved to Ann Arber I got involved in activism and worked on all kinds of different campaigns, like the campaign to ban land-mines and the campaign to stop the sanctions against Iraq, and our whole U.S. policy against them, and other issues too like the School of Americas, and last May I got arrested on the steps of the Pentagon for painting red out lines around bodies on the pentagon sidewalk to symbolize the connection between our government and the violence that's going on all throughout Latin America. In these countries where we train these soldiers right here in the U.S. ______. So, issues like that and activities like that have been the biggest part of my life I guess in the last two years. I was the co-owner and co-editer of a newspaper in Ann Arber called Agenda and we did an independent news monthly that we left at coffee shops for free for people and we focused on political issues, locally and globally. So then I was doing that with my partner and we ended that partnership so I moved out here to Boulder just a couple months ago, and I started volunteering at Free Speech TV, and I met the Termite TV people this week and have done cool things through Free Speech. I guess I moved to Boulder because I had a couple friends here and I knew that the climate was similar politically to Ann Arber Michigan, which is they're both small towns with about 100,000 people here in Boulder, and with the University in the middle so there's exciting, interesting stuff going on here. Okay but about me... so I was drawn to this place because of things like that... let's see, I still have a lot more time... What else? I don't know, that's a big part of my life. Also a couple of years ago I started painting just out of the blue, and I've really enjoyed that.... Let's see.. A friend of mine just gave me a couple slate tiles and gave me the idea to paint, so that's a big part of my life, too, sort of. Sometimes more than others, but... So I do abstract paintings... I do a lot of faces that seems sort of tribal or dream like, I guess... to me. And that's been a really cool thing because I was doing all that science stuff for so long and then to find at 27 I could express myself with colors and lines was fun... and it's cool, too, to do something like that because then you have pieces of yourself that you can show to people, and I think that my stuff's often unexpected to me, and I think it's unexpected to people who see it and know me, too. So, I don't know what else... I just interviewed for a job this morning so I'm pretty excited, so I'm in this point in my life where I'm just getting settled in this town and finding out what big things to focus all my energy on next, so... that's been my life so far, and things are looking good here, too. Can I end early? Okay, thirty more seconds. My favorite color is blue... let's see, my middle name's Ivonna because my mom's Czech so I grew up with that influence. I think my first sentence was "De me popsicle" which is a mix of like Czech for "give me" and then American "popsicle". And I have a baby book with like, everything written in Czech except "blah blah blah blah, Barbie Doll, Mickey Mouse..." All the American words are just brand names. So maybe that's why I wound up hearing about stuff like that so much. So that's it.
