I currently live in Hilo, Hawaii, but contrary to popular belief, I’m not from here. I am originally from Detroit, Michigan or the Detroit area. I was born and raised there, moved away to Illinois, and since then I’ve moved and just traveled and such, different places. My second home is in Chicago - Chicago, Illinois. Great town, but I don’t know if I could ever go back. Since then I’ve lived in Costa Rica, I’ve lived in Georgia, Maryland. Traveled different places, and now the reason why I came here is because I’m tired of traveling. The thing with traveling is you start, you keep starting over, you keep ending things, and just the whole process gets old because you forget where your roots are. You forget what’s constant and real and things are so temporary that you’ll feel, like, some consistency sometimes or constancy? So, I am studying to be a teacher here at the University of Hawaii. From a time, it’s just sometimes I don’t know if I really came to be a teacher or if I really came to see Hawaii. Something happens everyday where I just, I say to myself I love Hawaii whether it’s like a double rainbow or, you know, a beautiful sunset or someone gives me some ‘Aloha’ or some sort. It’s all beautiful. What else, I feel strayed. A couple things I’ve learned in my life that are important: timing is important. You can... yeah, timing is definitely important, and relationships; relationships are important, too. I don’t think humans were meant to be alone because, I don’t know, in relation to, like, timing and relationships, it’s just it’s, I don’t know. Sometimes you can, like, hope for one thing, but if the timing isn’t right, it just doesn’t work sometimes.
