Hello my name is Rose White Davis and I am an associate pastor at the Bethel Pentecostal church Abundant Life Center in the city of Grand Rapids Michigan. I came to Michigan in 1971; I joined the Bethel Pencostal Church in 1974. I am a native of Mississippi, I came to Grand Rapids for a different reason, and I really didn’t come here for uh to do what I’m doing now. So I know it was the purpose and the will of God to be where I am at this point in my life and that I was connected with this church at the time that I did. When I came in 1971 I just came to visit one of my sisters who was ill at the time and she took me to her church and I was really excited so excited about the church and so I actually really kind of joined three years later, I was little bit on the wild side just a new kid on the block a country girl coming to the city I’d really not been to a big city in my life and when I came to Grand Rapids I was a little bit on the wild side because I wanted to experience certain things about the culture and about the city that I’d never been exposed to as a girl because I grew up in the country, and when I came here I kind of ran wild about three years partying drinking doing a little drugs that kind of a stuff for a few years and then basically just wore myself out in about three years. I remember the day I got saved that I gave Jesus my heart and decided to join the church it was a Thanksgiving evening and I was up North in Saginaw Michigan with some friends of mine and nothing was right that day so I decided I was going to leave and come home cause I was there for the weekend when I got back home we were having church, at our church on Thanksgiving night and that night I gave Jesus my heart and I got saved and that’s been since November of 1974 and I’ve been in the church all of those years until that time I’ve been here at Bethel I’ve never looked back and it’s been a joyous joyous meeting. Since I came to the church many things have happened I’ve seen god do wondrous things through my life I got called into the ministry to be an evangelist and an associate pastor here at this church since 1988 I’ve been doing seminars, doing uh teachings, uh preaching, uh doing praise and worship services just anything that I can do because God’s has been so richly in my life I can’t do enough for him. And I have found that this place has been the pivotal point of me becoming who I am what I am in the Lord up until this day. I have so much that I owe to my pastor and my bishop which is Bishop Abney he has taught me many things about the Lord and many things about being a woman in ministry, how to carry yourself, how to deal with people, and he’s taught me most of all how to be a servant and I love him for that, and I love this place, and I really really really love God and his people. God has put a love in my heart for the lost and those people who do not know him that have not given him their heart, have not found that Jesus is the answer to everyone of our ills, I’ve come to tell those people God is the best thing that has happened to me and between every line of pain and glory it has to be Jesus written there, because he brought me to this point and I will never be the same and as we prepare and move into the new millennium I know I’m going into with a greater zeal, a greater aim, a greater motivation, to do more and more and more for the Lord because I will never stop serving him until he comes back and calls me home to be with, it’s been a joy, god bless you, we love you and have a blessed blessed year. Just in the final moments I have here, I just want to give you my favorite scriptures that the lord has just kinda burned into my spirit and into my heart, and when the lord called me into the ministry he gave me this word in Psalms 32:8. That says I will instruct you and I will teach you in the way that thou shall go and I will guide you with my eyes, and God has been true to that word in my life and he has done just that in all the twenty some years that I’ve been saved.
