One hundred years after the overthrow of the Nation of Hawai'i, Kamaka'eha, a ceremony at the erupting Kilauea Volcano unifies the political struggle of native Hawaiians with the living land they fight to regain. It interweaves the personal stories of six Native Hawaiians with powerful portraits of Hawai'i's volcanic terrain.

OLD TECH /
/ NEW TECH

Founding Termites

Once the fire has been started there is no turning back. Trips to Biosphere II and the mock pyramid of the Luxor Hotel reveal commercialism of the future as well as the past. If "technology is final, not optimal," will the Wonderbra save us all?

RANDOM NOTES
OF RAGPICKER WOMAN

dorothea braemer
Coordinating Producer
Random Notes of Ragpicker Woman is an investigation of people's ideas and memories about recycling. It explores recycling during times of war, depression and peace; as a form of protest, as an expression of guilt, as an offering of goodwill and an empty diplomatic gesture.

INDIA
anula shetty
Coordinating Producer
Termite TV goes to India. A dancing camel accompanies us on our explorations of ghost rooms, ants and termite mounds. Reflections on being a tourist in India are combined with Indian perspectives on being away from home.

PROMISES, PROMISES
Meryl Perlson

The show is in the mail, along with girl scout oaths, student loan repayments, a cheap landlord, sweepstakes millions, religious covenants and the Contract on America. Termite TV wants to know: what have you done for us lately?

PROMISCUOUS
VIRGIN

dorothea braemer

When the promiscuous virgin visits the continents everyone contemplates their own virginity; how they lost it, what they gained and where to go from there. In India, the Promiscuous Virgin searches for the cosmic egg and finds a hairbrush instead... This show makes you wonder: Am I promiscuous or am I still a virgin?

HABITS
Meryl Perlson
Coordinating Producer
Ritual mongers and substance abusers will delight in this binge of obsessive activities. Bleed with the pain of ever picked toenails, buzz with caffeine from the almighty bean, wilt under the weight of thinking too much, and never, never change your morning ritual. The Surgeon General guarantees this show to be addictive.

ANIMAL
mike kuetemeyer

Purring pets and bored grandmothers become bonded with the Id and the Ego through the forces of Animal Magnetism. But, tales of dead dogs and ducks reveal the tragic complications of inter-species love. What animal will you be reincarnated into? psst...Nicole's dog knows O.J. did it.

SECRETS AND SECRETIONS
Karen Lefkovitz
anula shetty
Coordinating Producers
Was the world really created out of the secretions of white ants? Termite TV explores and creates connections between secrets and secretions. This show reveals the lesser known poetry of Jonathan Swift, gives a critical look to the photographs of Andres Serrano, and reflects on the stain of menstruation. No bodily fluid is left unexamined.

MUSIC
Michael O'Reilly
Coordinating Producer
Sacred Harp music in an Alabama church; singing vaginas and decomposing corpses set to original a Capella compositions and backwards classical pieces; conch shell sampling and songwriting made easy; even between modern-day Georges, Pauls and Johns (did Ringos ever count ?); and the three best things about being a grown up, which, you guessed it, most assuredly include music.
